New Features​

1. OpenAI API Integration for Voicemail Transcriptions

  • FS PBX now supports using OpenAI's Whisper API for automated voicemail transcriptions.

  • Transcriptions are faster and more accurate, with support for multiple languages.

  • Simply enter your OpenAI API key in .env file. Then select the desired transcription model in Default Settings -> openai_transcription_model and make sure Default Settings -> transcribe_provider is set to openai

  • Supported models:

    • gpt-4o-transcribe - best quality
    • gpt-4o-mini-transcribe - faster/cheaper/less accurate,
    • whisper-1 - good, but older

  • The system will automatically generate transcriptions for new voicemails and include them in email notifications.

2. Improved Voicemail Transcription Email Template

  • The default voicemail transcription email template now features a modern, responsive HTML design inspired by the latest Postmark layout standards.

  • The new design is mobile-friendly, visually appealing, and compatible with all major email clients.

  • Your system's configured app name is now displayed dynamically, replacing the old hardcoded "Nemerald".

3. Safe and Backwards-Compatible Template Update

  • During this update, only templates using the previous default body (unmodified) will be updated. If you have a custom template, your changes will be preserved.
