✨ New Feature --- AI-Powered Call Transcriptions

FS PBX now includes built-in call transcription capabilities powered by modern speech-to-text AI providers.
This feature allows you to automatically transcribe call recordings and summarize conversations.

🧠 Powered by Industry-Leading AI

  • Transcriptions by AssemblyAI:
AssemblyAI was selected as the initial (and currently only) transcription provider due to its exceptional accuracy, reliability, and built-in HIPAA compliance.
It also includes automatic PII (Personally Identifiable Information) redaction, ensuring all stored transcripts remain compliant and secure.

  • Summaries by OpenAI:
Once a transcription is completed, FS PBX automatically generates a concise AI summary highlighting participants, topics discussed, action items, and outcomes using OpenAI's advanced language models.

🔧 Highlights

  • Domain-Scoped Configuration: Enable or disable transcription per domain and manage provider credentials in system settings.

  • Automatic or Manual Mode: Transcribe calls automatically after completion, or trigger transcriptions manually from the CDR page.

  • Rich Transcript Viewer:

    • Speaker-grouped transcript display

    • Timestamped segments and word-level alignment

    • Color-coded speaker identifiers for readability

  • Integrated Summaries: Summaries appear alongside the transcript for quick review.

  • Scalable Architecture: Queue-driven design (Horizon + Redis) for reliable async processing and fault tolerance.

  • Secure by Design: PII removal and HIPAA-compliant data handling.

🧪 Beta Notice

This feature is currently in beta.
Enable it per domain only after configuring the provider key and validating the queue worker.
Performance and accuracy may vary based on provider and audio quality.
