What's New
Call Block Has Been Rebuilt
The Call Block page has been rebuilt with a cleaner, faster interface.
You can now:
- Add, edit, enable, disable, and delete blocked callers
- Block calls by caller name, caller ID number, or both
- Choose what happens to blocked calls:
- Reject
- Busy
- Send to voicemail
- Manage blocks for all extensions or only your own extension, depending on permissions
Faster Call Blocking
Call Block now uses Redis caching to make call matching faster during live calls.
When a block rule is changed, the cache is refreshed automatically, so normal edits no longer require flushing the full FreeSWITCH cache.
Better Caller Matching
Caller matching is more reliable now.
It handles common caller ID formats such as:
- 10 digit numbers
- 11 digit numbers
+1numbers- International numbers
- Caller names from CNAM lookup
Install And Update Improvements
New installs now include the FreeSWITCH Redis module needed for faster Call Block matching.
Existing systems will try to enable it automatically during the update. If that cannot be done, Call Block will still work using the database fallback.
